Legend & Light Records works with independent artists who want to develop and release their music without giving up the identity behind it.
We’re not looking for artists who fit into a particular genre, image, or formula.
We’re looking for artists who know what they want to create — and who are looking for a label that understands the difference between supporting an artist and shaping them into something else.
What We're Looking For
Music with an identity of its own.
We don’t have a checklist of genres you need to fit into.
Rock can live here. Electronic music can live here. Metal, alternative, rap, folk, gothic or something we haven’t heard before can live here too.
What matters isn’t the category.
It’s whether there’s an artist behind the music with something of their own to say.
We’d rather hear something distinctive than something designed to sound like everything that’s already successful.
How We Work
Personal means personal.
Legend & Light isn’t designed as an anonymous platform where music goes in at one end and appears on streaming services at the other.
We want to know the people behind the music.
That means direct communication, honest conversations and decisions made around the individual artist and project.
Some artists may need support with the structure surrounding a release. Others may already have much of that structure in place.
We don’t believe every artist needs the same thing.
So we don’t pretend one standard package is the answer for everyone.
Your Music Stays Your Music
We're here to support your identity, not replace it.
Working with a label shouldn’t mean becoming a product of that label.
Your sound, your story and your artistic identity are the reason we’re interested in the first place.
Of course, collaboration means talking about ideas, possibilities and sometimes difficult decisions.
But there’s a difference between working together and taking control away from the artist.
We want the first one. Not the second.
What We Expect
Independence works both ways.
Creative freedom doesn’t mean nobody has responsibilities.
A good collaboration needs communication, reliability, honesty and the willingness to work together.
We don’t expect perfection.
We do expect commitment.
If something goes wrong, we talk about it. If something changes, we talk about it. And if we disagree, we talk about that too.
That’s considerably more useful than pretending everything’s fine until it isn’t.
No False Promises
We'd rather tell you what we can do than sell you what we can't.
Legend & Light Records is growing.
So is the structure we’re building around our artists.
We’re not going to advertise twenty impressive-sounding services just because they look good on a website.
If we can do something for you, we’ll tell you.
If we can’t, we’ll tell you that too.
And if something requires expertise outside the label, we’d rather work with the right people than pretend to know everything ourselves.
Trust starts with knowing where your own limits are.
